Saying Goodbye to ‘The Siren’s Tale’.

My stomach is filled with butterflies and my eyes are still blurry from a week of design, troubleshooting widgets, and figuring out a whole new blogging platform. But it’s done: the new blog is finally up, designed, and ready to become my new virtual home!

I’m so hoping that you all will come to my new blog and continue the wonderful, positive interaction I’ve had here at The Siren’s Tale!

I’m so happy to introduce the new blog…

www.belongwithwildflowers.com

A few notes:

* There will be no further updates at The Siren’s Tale. All blog posts / photography / etc. will now be at Belong With Wildflowers.

* TheSirensTale.com will be valid until the end of August 2014. I’m hoping this gives everyone time to transfer their subscription to my posts! After August, TheSirensTale.com will become invalid and will become a ‘dead link’.

* Every post that was on The Siren’s Tale is now at Belong With Wildflowers.

* I’ll be {slowly} sending all of my followers an email with reminders of how you can follow my new blog. Don’t worry, I’m dedicated to not losing you in this transfer process!

Most importantly – once I publish this post, I’ll be switching all of my social media pages from ‘thesirenstale’ to ‘belongwithwildflowers’ (or ‘belongwithwild’ if the other username is too long). This won’t change anything really; I just wanted to let everyone know in case they are confused by my picture with a new username :)

Thank you to everyone for making this space so warm, loving, and magical. I’m hoping to build this community even further at Belong With Wildflowers.

I can’t wait to see you there!

  1. Oo, good luck with your new venture!
Out of interest, why did you move to self-hosting, is it so you can start commercial blogging?
I’ve added your new URL to my WP Reader… :)

    SPIKE

    • Thank you, Spike! I moved to self-hosted for several reasons, but not for commercial blogging. The main reasons were: price (self-hosting is cheaper than premium upgrades through WP.com), freedom (you can build the website from the ground-up when self-hosted), and flexibility (WP.com limits what you can/cannot add to your blog/website). So far I love self-hosting… I’ve done it several times in the past with other blogs and I just feel much more ‘free’ and able to express myself without limitations from WordPress.com :)

Thanks so much for following the new blog!

  2. Good luck with Belong with Wildflowers! I’ll miss you at WP, but I’ll definitely stop by your new place. :)

  3. The site is looking great — can’t wait to tune in!

  4. I signed up, Caitlin. My best!

    • Thank you! So glad you headed over to the new blog :) I wanted to check in because I know you were worried about email subscriptions. I saw that you signed up by email… have you received email notifications about the 2 posts I’ve published so far on the new blog? Want to make sure the service is working properly :)

  5. Love the new look! I’m glad you were able to find what you wanted and make it your own!

  6. Woo!! So exciting! It’s beautiful :) Congrats and I look forward to following Belong with Wildflowers! xo

  7. I love the new look and name, Caitin! Can’t wait to see what else you come up with. :)

  8. Awesome Caitlin! Excited to see what you have in store :)

  9. Neat! If you don’t mind, what inspired the name? There’s always a story behind the name. :)

    • The name is inspired by the song “Among the Wildflowers” by Tom Petty. It’s a song near + dear to my heart, kind of anthem-like. And there’s nothing I love more than feeling free in nature, so thus the blog name was born! :)

  10. I subscribed by email. :) Best of luck, Caitlin! XO

  11. Caitlin good luck! I was looking at your twitter name and was so confused! I am sure this blog will be just as beautiful :)

  12. Will check out your new space…
